Kaspersky Lab moving core infrastructure from Russia to Switzerland; opening first Transparency Center
As part of its Global Transparency Initiative, Kaspersky Lab is adapting its infrastructure to move a number of core processes from Russia to Switzerland. This includes customer data storage and processing for most regions, as well as software assembly, including threat detection updates. To ensure full transparency and integrity, Kaspersky Lab is arranging for this activity to be supervised by an independent third party, also based in Switzerland.

Kaspersky Lab’s High-Quality Protection Proves Unstoppable in Independent Tests
For the fifth year in a row, Kaspersky Lab has again retained the top spot in its TOP3 cybersecurity metric, based on independent tests. Kaspersky Lab products outperformed those of all other security vendors in a broad spectrum of independent tests in 2017 – coming first place 72 times out of 86 tests and reviews, and finishing in the top three 91% of the time.

Kaspersky Lab publishes results of internal investigation related to incident with Equation APT source code
In early October, a story was published in The Wall Street Journal alleging Kaspersky Lab software was used to download classified data from an NSA employee’s home computer. Given that Kaspersky Lab has been at the forefront of fighting cyberespionage and cybercrime for over 20 years, these allegations were treated very seriously by the company. To gather facts and address any concerns, Kaspersky Lab conducted an internal investigation.

Trust first: Kaspersky Lab launches its Global Transparency Initiative; will provide source code – including updates – for third-party review; to open three Transparency Centers worldwide
Kaspersky Lab is announcing the launch of its Global Transparency Initiative as part of its ongoing commitment to protecting customers from cyberthreats, regardless of their origin or purpose. With this Initiative, Kaspersky Lab will engage the broader information security community and other stakeholders in validating and verifying the trustworthiness of its products, internal processes, and business operations, as well as introducing additional accountability mechanisms by which the company can further demonstrate that it addresses any security issues promptly and thoroughly. As part of the Initiative, the company intends to provide the source code of its software – including software updates and threat-detection rules updates – for independent review and assessment.

INTERPOL and Kaspersky Lab strengthen partnership with new threat intelligence exchange agreement
Kaspersky Lab has reiterated its commitment to global collaboration in the fight against cybercrime by signing a threat intelligence sharing agreement with INTERPOL. The legal framework is designed to facilitate and develop cooperation between Kaspersky Lab and INTERPOL by sharing threat intelligence data on the latest cybercriminal activities, wherever they appear.
