    Kaspersky Internet Security for Android has received the “Product of the year” award from the independent Chinese company PC Security Labs following the results it produced during a series of Android Malware Detection Tests.

    The Great Bank Robbery: Carbanak cybergang steals $1bn from 100 financial institutions worldwide
    Kaspersky Lab, INTERPOL, Europol and authorities from different countries have combined efforts to uncover the criminal plot behind an unprecedented cyberrobbery. Up to one billion American dollars was stolen in about two years from financial institutions worldwide. The experts report that responsibility for the robbery rests with a multinational gang of cybercriminals from Russia, Ukraine and other parts of Europe, as well as from China. The Carbanak criminal gang responsible for the cyberrobbery used techniques drawn from the arsenal of targeted attacks. The plot marks the beginning of a new stage in the evolution of cybercriminal activity, where malicious users steal money directly from banks, and avoid targeting end users.

    A bumper harvest: Kaspersky Lab sums up its test results for Q4, 2014
    Kaspersky Lab is pleased to announce the results of 22 tests carried out by independent research companies in Q4 2014. The experts tested Kaspersky Lab’s security solutions and those of other vendors: they analyzed how effectively popular security products detect new, unknown malware including mobile malware, protect against phishing and financial threats, and how they affect device performance.

    As the festive season approaches, people go out and buy more. This applies to online purchases just as much as in the shops so Kaspersky Lab reminds device users to make sure they always protect their transactions online. Unfortunately Internet shopping does not always end well for the buyers. A recent survey conducted by Kaspersky Lab and B2B International found that almost half of those respondents who lost money in fraudulent online transactions did not get all – or sometimes any – of their funds back.

    One billion more: Kaspersky Lab counts up this year’s cyber-threats
    Every year Kaspersky Lab experts evaluate the level of cyber-threats. In 2014 we saw considerable growth in the number of malicious attacks on user computers and mobile devices, further development of financial malware and a change in the vectors of web attacks. In 2013, most web attacks were carried out using malicious web resources located in the USA and Russia while in 2014 Germany hosted more malicious sites than everywhere except the USA. The Netherlands remained in 3rd place.

    Kaspersky Lab Broadens Cooperation with Both INTERPOL and Europol
    Kaspersky Lab has signed a cooperation agreement with INTERPOL and a memorandum of understanding with Europol to extend the scope of collaboration between the company and the law enforcement agencies in their joint fight against cybercrime.
